Biography:

 Born on the 4th August, 1953 in Ogidi, Anambra State, Engr. Reuben O. Okeke was educated at the

prestigious University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos, Nigeria where he bagged the Bachelor of

Science Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1977.

 

Rising from a pupil engineer at the beginning of his career with the Nation’s foremost electricity

company, Power Holding Company of Nigeria (formerly National Electric Power Authority),

he has served in various capacities, rising to the peak position of Chief Executive Officer. Engr Okeke

has served variously in the following capacities:

 
    District Manager, Jos Electricity Distribution Business Unit(1992)
    District Manager, Ijora Electrcity Distribution Business Unit (1993-1996)
    District Manager, Ikeja Electrcity Distribution Business Unit (1996-1998)
    Asst. Gen. Manager (Distribution) Lagos Zone (1998-2002)
    General Manager (Distribution) 2002-2004
    Chief Executive Officer, Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (2004-2007)
    Chief Executive Officer, Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (2007-2009)
    Director-General, National Power Training Institute of Nigeria (NAPTIN) -2009-Date.

 

Engr. Okeke won the Annual Best District Manager Award three consecutive times within the old

Lagos Distribution Zone of the National Electric Power Authority (NEPA). As Chief Executive Officer

at Ikeja, Engr. Okeke was managing an asset base of over N30Billion, peak load demand of

about 840MW and a monthly billing of N2Billion per month.

 Engr. Okeke was assigned the task of establishing the National Power Training Institute of Nigeria

(NAPTIN) and appointed its pioneering Director-General. Within two years of establishment of

NAPTIN under the management of Engr. Okeke, NAPTIN has trained more than four thousand

personnel in the Power Sector. There is a gradual march towards institutionalizing training in the

sector and this is being pursued through the establishment of a world class training institute under

Engr. Okeke’s watch.

 
He is a fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, and member, Council for

the Regulation of Engineersand the Nigerian Institute of Management. He is

married with children.

AHMED BOLAJI NAGODE- MCIPM,MNIM- DIRECTOR BUSINESS SERVICES

Born on the 10th of August 1962 and holds the Degrees of Master of Public Administration from UNILORIN in 1992, Bachelor of Science in Political Science from ABU, Zaria in 1984, and Diploma in Management from UNILAG in 1995. He worked with Kwara State Education Management Board 1986-1992 and was appointed as Manager (Personnel and Administration) National Electric Power Authority (NEPA) in 1993.He held the positions of Senior Manager (Promotion)  1996-1999, Principal Manager (Recruitment and Promotion) 2002-2006, Head (Learning & Performance Management) PHCN 2006-2009 and Assistant General Manager (Learning and Performance Management) 2009 -2013.

He was redeployed to NAPTIN in 2013 as Deputy Director (Programme) and appointed to cover the duties of Director Business Services in December 2013. His appointment to the substantive post was confirmed in February 2014. Mall A.B. Nagode , a seasoned HR practitioner has received training and capacity building both locally and abroad, which include- Accenture Nigeria, Akintola Williams Deloitte in Thaba Tula, RIPA London, 1P3 Washington DC, SETYM Montreal, ESAMI Mombasa, Arusha and Dubai, NPTI New Delhi and Bangalore and UPDEA Accra . Hobby includes Chess, Football and Reading. He is a Full Member of CIPM and NIM.

MR. I.E ADAMS- DIRECTOR FINANCE AND ACCOUNT

Born on 1st October, 1963 and holds degree in Accounting from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He also holds a Master Degree in Business Administration and a chartered Accountant. He joined the services of NEPA later PHCN in the year 1991 and rose through the ranks to the post of Principal Manager (F/A). He worked in the Office of the Auditor General of the Federation where he led many Audit teams on special assignments. 

He has successfully established the institute’s Accounts Department at the Headquarters and guided some Eight (8) Regional Training Centres. He has displayed requisite commitment, knowledge, skills and Technical competence to lead NAPTIN to a greater height. Mr. Adams has attended various training and capacity building both local and abroad. He is married with children.

ADEKUNLE OYENUSI- DEPUTY DIRECTOR LEGAL

Born 24th January, 1968, ’Kunle was educated at the Lagos State University, where he bagged the Bachelor of Laws Degree with Honours in 1989. He attended the Nigeria Law School, Victoria Island, Lagos from January-December 1990 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in December, 1990.

An African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF) scholar, Kunle also bagged the Master of Arts Degree in Economic Policy Management from the University of Ghana, Legon.  

Kunle served as Legal Adviser, Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company – a successor (Distribution) Company of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria Plc (PHCN) 2006-2008; Technical Assistant to the Executive Vice Chairman, Power Holding Company of Nigeria-PHCN (July 2008-March 2009). He was appointed to serve as Secretary to the Generation Technical and Monitoring Committee of the Transitional Board of PHCN in January 2010. He is presently Deputy Director (Legal)/ Legal Adviser to the National Power Training Institute of Nigeria (NAPTIN) which is the primary institution providing training and capacity building solutions to Electric Utilities in Nigeria. 

Kunle is an alumnus of the London Academy Business School, an active member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and the International Bar Association (IBA). He enjoys reading, family life and table-tennis. He is married with children.

MUKTAR ALIYU- ASSISTANT DIRECTOR (PROCUREMENT)

Muktar Aliyu was born on 3rd June, 1964 in Kano. He holds a Master Degree in Business Administration(MBA)in 2012 and Post Graduate Diploma in Management in 2008 from Bayero University, Kano. He also has a Higher National Diploma in Business Administration and Management from Federal Polytechnic, Birnin Kebbi.


He has served under different capacities in the Power Holding Company of Nigeria. He was appointed Manager in charge of Sabon Gari and Kumbotso Business Units under the Kano Electricity Distribution Company of Nigeria between 2008-2010.


Muktar Aliyu was redeployed to NAPTIN in the year 2010 to join the pioneer team of professionals to set up the new Institute. He was promoted to the post of Principal Manager and later confirmed as an Assistant Director in the Human Resources and Procurement Units. He has received trainings both locally and internationally

LAWAL UMAR MUHAMMAD-ASSISTANT DIRECTOR (PUBLIC RELATIONS)

Lawal Umar Muhammad was born on the 2nd of October 1963. He obtained his Primary School Leaving Certificate in LEA Tudun Wada Zaria in 1975. Thereafter I proceeded to Government College Katsina from 1980-1985. He holds Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Communication.


He joined the Service of the then NEPA (PHCN) in 1997 as Manager (Public Relations). He was Promoted to Principal Manager (Public Relations) and redeployed to NAPTIN in 2011. He was also promoted to the Assistant Director (Public Relations) in 2012. Lawal Umar received various training and capacity development both locally and abroad.
Lawal Umar Muhammad is married with children.

DR. SUNDAY NANKAP WUYEP (PhD) - DIRECTOR MONITORING & EVALUATION

  Dr-Wuyep1.jpgDr. Wuyep was born in the late 50s and holds the Degrees of Doctor of  Philosophy (ph.D) Science in Education from the University of London in 1994,  Masters Degree in Science Curriculum- 1986 , and Barchelor of Science (Education) in 1984  from University of Jos.


He worked with Plateau State Science College of Education Gindiri from 1986-1988,  Senior lecturer Department of Science & Technology Education, University of Jos 1991-1999. He was appointed Special assistant to the Honourable Minister of State for Science and Technology, 1999-2003.


Dr. Wuyep was appointed Deputy Director, Bioinformatics/Planning Department, National Biotech Development Agency, Abuja, 2004-2007. He was promoted to Director, Department of Bioinformatics, Planning and Bio- resources, National Biotechnology Development Agency, Abuja, 2007.


Dr. Wuyep moved to National Biotechnology Development Agency as Director Administration and Finance, 2007-2010. He ascends to Director/Special Assistant to Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Science and Technology, 2010-2011. He later moved to Federal Ministry of Power where he served as Director/Special Assistant Office of the Permanent Secretary, 2012-2013.


Dr. Wuyep was redeployed to NAPTIN in 2013 as Director Monitoring and Evaluation Department
a seasoned educationist and author of so many science and technology books, has received training and capacity building both locally and abroad.  He is a member of several professional bodies which include- Science Teachers Association of Nigeria (STAN), Nigeria Association for Science Education Research (NASER), Curriculum Organisation of Nigeria (CON) etc.


Dr. Wuyep is married with children.
